Boston – March 6, 2019 – New England Law | Boston, the only independent, ABA-accredited law school in Massachusetts, today announced that it has been ranked a top law school for women by Enjuris and The Princeton Review.
Founded in 1908 as Portia Law School, the first and only law school created solely for the education of women, New England Law continues to provide opportunity to women and other historically underrepresented students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend law school.
According to the American Bar Association, for the third year in a row, women have outnumbered men in law school classrooms. A recent report conducted by Enjuris, an online platform dedicated to helping people with life-altering injuries, ranks New England Law number six for female enrollment, as nearly 64 percent of the 2018 incoming class identified as women.
The Princeton Review, known for its college rankings in dozens of categories, included New England Law in its Annual Best Law School Rankings for 2019. The rankings identify the top 10 law schools in 12 categories. This year, New England Law was ranked number three for “Greatest Resources for Women” —a new category for 2019. New England Law is the only Massachusetts law school on the list.
“As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we honor the many graduates who have passed through our halls—from our early days as Portia Law School and today as a diverse, coeducational legal institution—and gone on to accomplish tremendous things,” said Allison Dussias, Associate Dean and Professor of Law, New England Law | Boston. “As we pay tribute to the women who paved the way, we renew our commitment to providing exceptional legal education to all.”
